How much boost are you supposed to be running? Blower and pulley size?

I would set it in the middle and maybe a hair towards the softer side. Make a few full boost runs and keep an eye on your boost gauge, it you are not making the speced boost, go a bit harder and try again till you get it where it should be. It is a balancing act when you have to adjust a valve between being to hard where it won't open off load vs. being pushed open by pressure etc...

For avergage setups in terms of bov/bpv's you can go wrong with the Hyperboost HX DV/BOV which needs no adjustment. I used this valve for a long time before I went with something more extreme like the HKS SSQV3 BOV

AT idle set it to where you can feel that there is air venting off. Once you feel that air is coming out at idle from the vob then leave it there.

- Adjustment to the BOV III PB is made by rotating the cap to increase spring tension rotate in the direction of hard, marked on the top of the cap
- Rotate the cap in the direction of soft to decrease the spring tension – CAUTION Do not rotate the cap beyond the indicator groove
- With the engine at idle the exhaust port should be closed off by the piston – the piston should be hard against the seat and not floating or moving
- Free rev the engine and back off quickly, the engine should return to normal idle speed – if the engine drops below idle or stalls increase the spring tension by half a turn
- Repeat this process until the engine free revs and returns to normal idle speed
- Test drive the car and ensure that when decelerating or changing gears that the engine does not backfire or stall. If backfiring or stalling is noticed then check all connections made during the installation, otherwise increase the spring tension

Hi,

I know, it's an old thread, but could you give me an answer about the Turbosmart BOV at the A&A Kit:

I've cleaned my BOV after two years of using and give it some oil.
Now I've to reinstall it and to find the right adjustment again.
How should it be at idle speed?
Open so that the air is venting out, or closed that no air leaves the system?
In this document: http://www.aacorvette.com/pdf/turbosmart_bov.pdf
the instruction told me that it should be closed at idle.
But when I looked around in the forum, they say that it should be closed on turbo systems and open on supercharges.
I'm confused now... what's right?

I'd like to know a positive answer using 2 of these valves on a turbo car. I replaced the springs with some of the yellow springs and I have them set all the way to hard.
