Dont think it will be worth the cost at just the 8psi. A good tuner at this boost level will work fine for you. If you look at over 12 psi too 16psi then yes Up too the 16 psi you will go with a 2 bar over that 3 bar. Give BLOWNBLUEZ06 a p.m. on your set up. He really will get you up and going the the max of the unit or the info to do so.

I would have to disagree with you Robert, I had a speed density tune on my old LS6 P1 combo. My max psi was 8, sd tunes cars are a much more of a fine tuned car. I know not everyone here will agree with me but the people here who are sd tuned can vouch for me.

You have some excellent tuners around you then. What I have had around here other than nick. Had the car at 3 other places all good size shop. Two of the others are vendors on here from them working on my car. When nick did the 402 motor for me the car got 15 too 17 mpg city and on the highway 25 to 29. Then it went too hell after the first guy got his hands on it. My milage avg was 7 to 9 in town and 14 on the road. That was with my foot out of it. After nick had the car back this time found the problem and has it back good now. With the others 3 the car was just putting gas down the motor. Let just say a SD tune you have to really have a good tuner that REALLY knows what he is doing, Not him just saynig he does. Nick is very good with these motors. I can tell you as far as tuners go 1 out of 10 that works on the cars really know what he is doing. From now on no one around here will ever get the hands back on my car other than nick. I dont care how long I have to wait on him.

You are correct I have a great tuner and he stands behind his tunes/work. I hear you about gas mileage you still have stock lines? Me nope I'm running -10 hose to two -8 lines into my fuel rails and 75 lb injectors and I have a Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump! So I don't want to hear about gas mileage

Fact is, a speed density tune is a good idea any time you add boost. It is the proper way, PERIOD.

With a proper tune I see no reason why you wouldn't get descent mileage.

Default so overall a sd tune is the way to go with boost??

So swaping to a 2 bar and getting the sd tune is the best way to go on my 98? Im going to be working with a really good tuner so i dont think i should have any problems. So going with a sd tune will give me max power with my setup?

I just had my car converted to an SD tune this week becasuse my MAF kept getting spikes due to turbulant air flow. I run 10 psi boost. I will be picking mine up today. I will post again with my results!

Yes! My tuner was able to get 505 RWHP 466 RWTQ! The previous two tuners could only get 332 RWHP out of my car. This let me know that THIS is THE BEST Tuner I have worked with!

surely not from just a tune! IIRC, you just had a significant amount of mods done
