Default Fuel Pump Issue Fixed

My mechanic Gotjuice? (Arnold), Corey of Henderson Performance and some help from Chriswtx my fuel pressure issue is fixed.

My setup was first put on Corey's dyno Nov 05 and then it put down 749 rwhp at 6800 with the 97-98 return system. That was when the LPE pump was new as was the KB BAP. This year I finally upgraded to an 8 rib as I was having belt slip above 6k after about 2k on a belt. 2 years ago I ran the Texas Mile and found out how belt slip in 4th and 5th restricts your speed to 180mph. Corey took out the MAF and now I have SD tune much better throttle response and no more surging. It took me some time to do the upgrade as I wanted a new C6 first and put resources there, got the C6 so did the 8 rib.

When we first put the 8 rib on I went to the dyno and FP dropped at 5500 and this was when we were getting ready for last months Texas Mile. So Aronld and Chris made a custom Bosch 420 pump for the intank, not time for getting in the stuff for a hobs on the outside. This did not work, oh we did change the regulator at this time.

After the Texas Mile I got in line at Arnolds, he had several big jobs, one was putting a Vortech Blower on a 07 Z06 that put down 560 with no headers or any other mods. The new attack was twin pumps in the tank. The pictures from others that have done this mod on the forum worked, Corey got the pumps, custom made a Y and Arnold did his magic with putting the two pumps together. So I still have stock fuel rails, the stock fuel lines to and from, except for the new line from the Aeromatic Regulator to the fuel rail.

My Vette fired right up with the new pumps and on the way home several blasts to 5k no issues. So last night out to Corey's for the test to see if all was well. From the previous pulls Corey took out all the timing and maxed the fuel for my protection as I tend to boost the crap out of my setup. First pull very rich and he then took out fuel on the top end and put in 15 degress of timing. Second and last pull to only 6400 730 RWHP as the 60# injectors were done and he shut it down. So now I got 95% of the Vette fixed. I need bigger injectors before March for the Texas Mile as I need to run my setup to 6800 or so in 4th and 5th to motor the mile.

My thoughts after 4 years of having this small block together and still making about the same power (with bigger injectors should be at 750 or so when we run up to 6800). I am very pleased that after 15k and 1/4 passes, the Mile Runs that are harder on the engine wide open for a Mile is such a rush, that I sill have lots of HP and now zero belt slip. Arnold I owe you the most thanks as you do all my work and have kept my setup together as I do like to thrash on my setup, I do drive on the edge quite a bit. Also to A&A for the short block that has held up to my abuse and still makes great power. Finally to Corey for his tuning that is not on the edge, just so I could make a bigger number.

I have some 60# injectors that I will post up for sale after Thanks Giving as I am going to 90# for the future, not just this setup.

Thanks for the props. Hopefully with the larger injectors the fuel system will be enough. I still think different rails with the Bosch pump "hobbs" wired would the the best way for your power. We need to get everything working perfectly so you can hit 200 in the Texas Mile.
Now enjoy your powerful Vette for a little while.

Very cool

I was gonna suggest 80lb Injectors but the 90's will work fantastic for ytour set-up - looking forward to the upcoming results

Thanks,Matt
