In the famous line from Sgt Schultz " I know nothing...."

I am considering a FAST intake and understand that it is already set up for NOS. So with the FAST intake, how do I add a 50 - 100 shot of NOS? Can you recommend a kit or do I put one together.

Knowing nothing, if there is multiple NOS injection points on the intake, how do you adjust the "shot"?

Am I correct to think that with the NOS is "off" everything is as it was stock. When you heat it up and flip the switch the computer makes all the adjustments - correct?

Thanks in advance!

N.O.S is a brand, and getting a Fast intake just for a small shot of nitrous is a HUGE waste of money. your best bet is to go over to ls1tech.com and read through their nitrous section.

Hey neighbor! I am no nitrous guru. But, I have had several setups and I know the layout pretty well....

I am considering a FAST intake and understand that it is already set up for NOS.

I think what you are reffering to as far as the FAST being set up for Nitrous is the fact that there are bosses molded into the manifold for the direct port nitrous users.

So with the FAST intake, how do I add a 50 - 100 shot of NOS?

If you were to go the direct port route, you would have 8 seperate "nozzles" with fuel and nitrous jets for each nozzle. You would just insert the neccesary pills into each nozzle. If you went the single (most people do) nozzle wet kit you would insert the nozzle before the throttle body and only have 2 pills to change (wet kit).

Can you recommend a kit or do I put one together.

Nitro Dave's Nitrous Outlet... I think he is a vendor here. But, he puts together awesome kits and is a Texas company. Plus, he is just a little over an hour south of DFW.

Correct.

When you heat it up and flip the switch the computer makes all the adjustments - correct?

If you are using a dry kit (no fuel jets, nozzle before the MAF sensor) the MAF will make fueling adjustments. If you are using the wet kit, you adjust the air/fuel with the nitrous jets. It is usually a good idea to get a dyno session after installing any nitrous kit if you are not running a full time Wideband setup. However, most nitrous kits (wet) are already setup correctly and "pilled" for your car's fuel pressure.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, just post them up or PM me.

Give Harris Speed Works a call, they are a forum Vendor here, LS1tech has a really good nitrous section, most of the guys who spray here are there as well.

Familiarize yourself the difference between Wet and Dry kits, firgure out what your goals are and what kind of look you want in the engine bay (hidden/show/Plate/Nozzle), and call some vendors.

I have personnally used HSW (Nick and Matt), Nitrous Outlet (Dave, Chris and Ray), and Dynotune (Dean and Dan). When I was in research phase, I called all three and they were all very helpful and did not push a sale. I ended up piecing my two stage system from all three vendors.

Default Thanks!!!

Great advise and information. I will start researching systems.

My goal is to simply have a little added HP for off road activities.

As for adding a FAST intake just for Nitrous the gain from the restrictive LS1 intake would be worth it... and the nitrous is a bonus.

Sast question as I start my research.. what is the difference between wet and dry and the ups and downs of the two. Am I correct to think that wet is jetting nitrous and fuel as where dry is just nitrous in front of a MAF?

Also what is considered "safe" as to the shot? 50, 75, 100 HP without trashing the motor? (I know there is a lot of what ifs in that question)

just found this link... http://www.go-fast.org/z28/new_to_nitrous.html

Seems to be good info and answered a lot of questions.

Thanks
Sarge
