Boost level - 3.8" pulley A&A kit
Hey guys,
I just bought a very lightly used a&a kit with a 3.8" pulley. I have a mostly stock 97 corvette (stock h/c/i). Any idea what kind of boost level I will see? I will be throwing a gauge on it too but was contemplating getting a restrictor plate in there during the install and didnt want to have to wait until the dyno to put it on.
What are ya'lls thoughts?
Another question:
The only things I add to my fuel on occasion are seafoam and techron. Are there any REAL octane boosters out there that can be added to 93 pump gas to give a significant octane boost? I doubt it..... I will probably run a few gallons of race gas in each tank to keep things safe.
Thanks,
Matt

I was thinking a little higher boost levels with a 3.8". I was at 7-8# with a 4.3". Now at apx 12# with a 3.9".
I would not mess with a restrictor plate. Just pull back timing to get it in the HP level you want. If the boost is higher than you want, go for a larger one.

A&A Vortech or Procharger? I'm thinking Vortech with that pulley size. With an A&A Vortech T-Trim and a 3.8" pulley I made 6psi at 6200 rpms. Power at that boost level was 501 rwhp through a 6 speed. Only internal mods were the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam and 918 springs.

My tuner claimed to have seen 9lbs with my 3.8. I don't have my boost gauge yet to verify this. The motor was spun to 7,000 rpm so that could have had something to do with a little higher boost level than average.

I guess I am going to get a smaller pulley on mine becuase I hae a T trim with 4" pulley and i was seeing about 7-8 psi at 6300 or so. I just got my catback and installing the ls2 tb and manifold.
