Default Help with nitrous install

Alright guys, I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to be installing in the next couple of days. I purchased a dry nitrous plate setup with a bottle heater and opener from hsw about 2 months ago and I finally have some spare time to install the whole thing. I also got a aem wideband gauge, autometer fuel pressure gauge, and autometer nitrous pressure gauge. Ive been looking at this stuff and reading the instructions and some of these things have to be hooked up to a 12 volt ignition source.

One of my questions is how do i go about wiring the things that need a ignition source without overloaded the stock wiring on the car. Thanks in advance

I use these things now for 12v. I can isolate/fuse several hook-ups. They are available at most auto parts stores. They are called "Fuse Taps"

The entire range of items we use in one of Beer's panels are relay activators. So this means the heavy amp load is not seen at the switches. The switches only control the on/off of the relay and use only a couple milla amps. This entire panel of switches would not even see a couple amps and the 12v switched wire that we use is rated at 10 amps, so no worry hundreds have used this 12v source for their nitrous activation SW panel. I have good pictures of where/when/how to wire the nitrous on our cars, it's in the C5/C6 N2O Install section of my web and there is also a correct bottle install how-to and it's all based on HSW stuff. Lots of other tech type stuff to for the C5. Good Luck and let me know if I can help some how.

if replacing the ash tray panel with one of Beer's Switches...can't you just use the positive and negative from the cigarette lighter as your 12v source?

just a thought???

Yes and no. It would work, but not the safest way to go. the reason we use that particular 12v switched wire is because when the key is switched off so is the 12v source to the panel. If you use the lighter 12v it will still supply 12v when the key is off, then you may forget and leave something on that will still have power going to it. Think about your bottle heater turning on/off all night and maybe for days because you left the panel switch armed. However, if using the wire suggested your cars key is the master-master switch and will ensure it's off, a safety move. Hope that makes sense to you, as I can ramble on and on sometimes, LOL.
