Default MAF question

HELLO GUYS:
I PLAN TO INSTALL A PROCHARGER IN A LS2 THAT WILL GO ON A C5. I HAVE A 90MM PORTED AND POLISH TB AND WILL SOON GET EITHER A LS2 INTAKE OR USE A LS6 WITH THE 90MM NECK. SHOULD I ELIMATE THE MAF OR GO TO A BIGGER ONE LIKE THE ONE OFFERED BY TSP(100MM). I HAVE HEARD THAT A POSSIBILITY IS TO ELIMATE THE MAF AND STAY WITH SPPEED DENSITY. IF ELIMINATING THE MAF CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW IS DONE? WOULD IT AFFECT DRIVEABILITY THE IS FOR STREET USE.

Ditch the Maf and go speed density.

Just buy a 2 or 3 bar map sensor and plug it in, Its very simple.

If your current MAF has a built in IAT sensor though you may have to rig up another one if you choose to dump the maf.

The rest of it is in the tuning.

Where can you buy the 2 bar map sensors?

Thanks

For those that didn't get the PM, the GM part# for the 2 bar sensor is 12615136. It replaced the 12580698 some time ago. It is the "baro" sensor used on the Cobalt SS. It is the exact same form factor as the 1-bar currently used buy the C5's. If you go in asking for the MAP sensor from the Cobalt SS, you're going to end up with something that won't plug in to your existing harness.

So when you take the MAF out, what goes in it's place? I know you put in a map sensor, but what fills in the gap where the MAF used to be?

A longer silicon coupler or longer piece of pipe to take up the space left by the MAF.

As previously stated, you'd have to locate your IAT someplace if it is currently integrated into the MAF.
