Default Long Term Forced Induction

Lets get a thread going on long term forced induction.

What method of F/I do you currently have?
How many miles have you put on your set up?
Forged or Stock?

Also state any issues that you may have had during the life of ownership

Ill start....
TTI Stage X
35000
Forged bottom end.

The kit has been flawless, I did however brake the rear end pinion gear (stock rear) after 25k miles on the kit

My car is street driven and runs at the track.

Procharger D1SC
17,000
Stock

Lost an idler pulley on the supercharger 12 months ago after 12k miles(the blower had 6k before it was put on the car so technically 18k on the blower). Other then that nothing.

It's my daily driver though I have it up at RPM Motors getting the flip-drive and a re-tune(might I add the motor and clutch now have 124k original miles).

No one wants to talk about their Forced Induction setup reliability...

My setup is a weekend warrior that I drive very hard, got a quite a few 1/4 mile runs and some harder on the motor 1 mile runs and this was with 700 rwhp that I did 15k on. The track and mile runs I have been through 2 clutches, one water pump, power steering pulley, one rocker arm spit out the needle bearings (found at oil change). I drive my boosted Vette like I stole it and have lots of fun and on the orginal A&A bracket D1 14lbs of boost.

Presently 771 rhwp 20lbs of boost and ready again for the Texas Mile. I will see how my engine with 243 heads likes 20lbs of boost and 6800 rpm in 4th and 5th gear pulls. Have now 16k on this setup and when it goes boom I am going ERL LS2 427 and F1A or R with some Trick Flow heads and C6Z drive train for bigger power for higher speeds at the Texas Mile.

My engine has been great with 14lbs of boost and it has seen lots of flagging with many runs over 180 mph so I love top end and I will continue to flag my setup until it needs rebuilt. My setup has needed parts to support the engines power to keep going and if I was to drive a Supercharged Vette daily I would not want one with this amount of power, if I was doing daily blower driving the ZR1 setup would be perfect

TTi'd since 2005

35,000 on set up
469 RWHP / 585 RWTQ
Stock bottom end / 10psi with ECS meth

No issues apart from tires

I have to say (since you ask), the rest of the car, headlight motors, rocking seat, sticky clutch pedal, fuel guage, steering lock etc etc... leaves a lot to be desired - I just call it character.

The three most "long term FI cars" that come to my mind are;

An ATI kit that was installed at 105k, the car now has 226k, and came back in for a cam and meth at that time. (against our recommendations) but is running great at 595rwhp threw an A4.

2003VETTE's car, which happens to be the very first Paxton Corvette we built. The car has surpassed 1000 1/4 mile passes last season!! The car is very well documented track wise since the owner is an avid bracket and index racer. 400 pre blower, 600 post blower, full street trim and street driven. The car has has one belt changed when the blower cam came in a couple of years ago, and holds the stock bottom LS1 record. (9.82 with a std 6 rib belt and our base kit)

And 4DRUSH's car, 5 years on his Paxton 346 build. Hundreds & hundreds of passes, plus street driving. Now being the only IRS 346 in the eights. Never a belt or FI issue to date.

2000 FRC
85k (70k w/ blower)
572rwhp / 505rwtq
A&A 1st Gen kit P1SC
started w/ 8# ended @ 12#
LS6 intake
LT headers
stock exhaust
241 heads
SLP 5101 Cam (218/222 556/569 115)
Comp 918 springs
42lb Green Tops
MAF tune

I got ALOT of miles out this motor and just this past Nov I tore it out and had a forged 347 ready to go in. Many highway miles, drover down to the Cruise-In twice and went on some pretty long road trips. No track passes, but I was auto-crossing & doing some mexcian mile pulls. Funny thing was the motor looked just as good interally as it did w/ 20k when I put the ARP head studs in as it did when I just pulled it out.

New setup:
Forged 347
Diamond -8.6cc pistons
K1 Technology rods
Stock crank
GM MLS head gaskets
243 heads (9.95:1 comp)
LS6 Intake
Speed Inc SC3 Cam (226/232 598/599 117)
SD Tune
new intercooler setup
ARP hardware
OBX LT headers

I am pretty sure this will be in the 600+ range, hopefully over 650, but that is asking alot from the little P1.
