Default Throttle Body?

Should i port the Throttle Body? Will i need a tune? Will it mess up my tune?

I have a 2001 Z06 with ram air intake, cutouts, descreened Mass air flow, SLP 25% underdrive pulley and the coolant bypass mod.

Shouldnt do any more than what you have done to it a this time. Would all work better if you had a GOOD TUNER to do it after you get all you are going to do to it.

Yes, No, No. Are you running a stock intake manifold? What are your future plans for the car, i.e. road racing, drag racing, street driving? The reason I ask is because if you are going to add a cam, heads and a manifold I would hold off on the porting until then.

Well for now i just want to do little mods to make it as fast as possiable without having to tune it. Later in a few years i will drop a cam but for now i just want to be able to beat stock 02-04 vettes. Mine is an 01 z06 so i want to get more than the 405 hp, stock mine is 385 hp.

I just dnt want to make it to the point where I HAVE to tune it....i dont want to spend $$ on a tune when im going to spend $$ on a tune again when i drop the cam.

Remember that my car came with more restriction than the others, reason why it only has 385 and not 405....so with more air flow, i wonder if it will mess it up or mess the tune. Or can it handle it??

Is there any other things that i can do the the car to make it faster but not have to spend the major $$$$$????

THANK YOU EVERYONE

just installed a katech ported tb on my car a week ago. it is a 02z with long tubes, vararam, catback and a dyno tune. i am getting ready to install a ecs blower cam and have plans for a ecs novi kit down the road. with my future plans i figured the ported tb cld not hurt. i did notice a increase in throttle response but no seat of the pants change in power. even katech states ard 3hp increase for a similar car like mine. i did not need to have my car retuned and it is running great. BUT if i were you i would do long tubes first or sit down and think about what your long term goals are for YOUR car.

Okay well if i take it off, do i need a new gasket?? Also, since it is electrical and not a wire drivin one, am i going to have to recalibrate anything? im sure the guy i take it to is going to end up moving the flap in it to clean it. will that throw of the tb sensor?? I just want to make sure before i take it off because i dont want i the not work after i put it on and then i have to spend more $$. Thanx

Don't need a new gasket. Don't need to recalibrate. Just be careful around the areas where the blade touches the body. Take too much off in that area and you'll need another tb.
