I got to thinking about the APS oil return line after the scavenge pump, which is at least 3' long and travels up hill (against gravity) to the oil fill cap. This seems very inefficient to me and seems like there would be a better way.
Im wondering if its better to tap the oil pan to give it a less restrictive path back to the motor? If so, where do you supercharger or TTi guys tap your pan? Pics would be cool too!
Driver side next to the balancer and to the far, upper right. Too far left and you'll hit the oil pickup tube. You should probably follow the spot that the TTix guys use on the sides though.
Yeah that seems like a weird place for it to drain back into. Not sure why but some people are terrified of drilling into their oil pans for that return line. Even back in my old "5.0" days guys would swear off using a Vortech blower in favor of the paxton SN design just so they wouldn't have to drill and tap the pan. There is nothing to it and it makes much better sense then running it all the way back up to the oil fill cap.
