Forging the LS6
I am thinking about forging my LS6... in my mind, it is nothing more than a set of forged rods and forged pistons with rings... not that big of a deal.. for those who have done it.. is there anything I am missing other than the usual engine build stuff... gaskets, bolt etc.?

engine machine work
align hone the mains
hone the cylinders
new cam berrings if many miles
ballance rotating assembly
clean the block
deburr the block
magnflux the block/crank
all of the above could be skipped but then again it is a bit of work to R&R the c5 engine.

Do it correct the 1st time then no more problem with it. It may be over kill. But the old saying is it is only as stong as the weakest part.
