I want to throw a cam into my C5. I want something with a lopey idle but still has decent street manners. I have a 150 shot running through it now. I'll also be doing the valve train the same time as the cam. Any thoughts? I like the Hannibal lector cam but can't find where to buy it. 25x/25x .61x/.61x 113+3 are the specs of that cam.
25x cam is very debatable on "good street manners." personally, the biggest I would go and still call it good street manners is low 230s. Maybe a 228/232 type of cam with as much lsa as you can clear especially if you have stock cubes.
Keep in mind how often you drive the car, A big cam sounds mean but do you want to hear and feel that grumpy cam all the time. I have a few buddies that put in big cams and got sick of them after a year or two, I would not go any lower than a 115.
Since you don't have a blower, Unless you're worried about driveability, I would not hesitate to go lower than 115lsa. Depending on auto or manual and desired street manners, I would recommend 110-113lsa with 10 degrees extra duration on the exhaust.
