Does forged internals help on stock compression engine?
I have a 2002 Z06. If I were to forge the internals, but keep the compression the exact same, would that allow me to run a great more boost? Or could I only run significantly more boost if I dropped compression?
lower compression is best for boost! forged pistons are stronger and can handle more boost! lower compression forged piston are the best on a boosted car
Thanks mate. I'm with ya. But if I were to go forged, and not drop compression, is going forged a complete waste? Or can I still bump up boost over a cast engine a good bit even on stock compression?

yes you can run more boost forged!! stock is good for max 10 psi and forged is good for 14 psi give or take a few psi
stock vette engines with the right set up and rod bolts - 600-620rwhp
lowering compression is not always needed with boost, the right set up will be fine and be more fun day to day with near stock 10:1 compression. Most engines we build are 9:5 minimum.
stroker motors can get away with more per say since it has more cubic inches.
Callies compstar rods and Diamond pistons are a good combo.
One thing to look at is when your wanting to push these motors with a lot of boost the stock heads have a thin deck and will not seal up for very long. Head studs and a quality head are your best choice when wanting to make serious power. Then you have to look at the block distorting haha It never ends. Options are changing to a iron block or the RHS alum block. TFS or AFR heads are a good choice when looking towards aftermarket heads.
