I have a 2002 z06 with a procharger, I think the belt is making noise, its got a little squeal coming from it. Not sure if its the belt or something else, Please help.. need it fixed before i take it out for the summer. Thanks..
Does it sound like it is coming from the lower section? if so that could be the AC tensioner!
Best suggestion: Jack it up, put down some jack stands, do a cold start, crawl under it and determine where the sounds is coming from. From my experience you can have a lot of slack in the belt thus allowing some slop when cold and maing it squeel, then once warmed up the heat helps it to take up and the squeel goes away.
Now if it is always there and it sounds like a chirp then that points a little more towards a idler pulley or a tensioner pulley - I had to update all mine on the AC system, due to a bad tensioner, so I did the idler too since I was already down there
The cool thing is is that they are relatively inexpensive to get and readily available
