Will this mcleod clutch work for 700rwhp?
Mcleod RST Street Twin $649 that is rated for 800 hp. I have read good things about them and like that price.

(These two Mcleod setups use the stock LS1/LS6 style flywheel. If you have an LS2, LS3, LS7 etc you will need to swap to an LS1/LS6 flywheel and it will be a direct bolt-in setup and function perfectly. We offer these flywheels in both steel and aluminum to suit your needs)
SDPC is offering free shipping. This seems like a good deal. I am at 500/500 hp/tq now but I am building to go 700-750 rwhp. Do you guys think this clutch will work. It is a weekend driver that will see some drag strip use and maybe some beginner stuff on a road course.
Can I reuse my flywheel if I have it resurfaced? I am on a budget.

Melting Slicks
for drag racing and s street car stick with the steel flywheel, use aluminum on a road track car. with 750 rwhp you will have no problem spinning the steel flywheel

I have read a lot of clutch threads and don't want to end up with a bad clutch story.
Anyone have experience with a new auto parts store (autozone, napa, etc) flywheel?
I am not going to resurface mine as it sems to not be recommened. Will a new flywheel from one of these stores work?

I am more than happy with my McLeod. I pulled it out after about 30 passes and it was darn near new. I sent it in anyway for rebuild since I had an important rental coming up. Very reasonable rebuild price and top notch service.
drives almost like stock and holds my power with no problem.
C3, you are not that far from me if you want to hook up and try my clutch out. If you are going to put in an expensive clutch, don't skimp on the flywheel. Get them balanced together as well. JMHO.
idk, I have also heard good things about the RPS twin.

I can find no reason to not buy this clutch. It is cheap for a twin disk (650) even after adding a RAM billet steel flywheel (250). No real bad reviews and is rebuildable. Most people who have them seem to love them and it should hold my goal hp.
Thanks for all the help.

So is the difference between the RST and RXT the disc compounds? Like if you bought the RST and then later wanted to up the power and get it rebuilt they could change it over to the RXT during the rebuild?
