Anyone ever heard of fluid from a akly system going up the blade shaft and getting into the TPS? Its happening to mine,I have a 90 mm throttle body, not sure what one,i think its a Nick Willams, bought it from A&A when they installed my KB S/C'er.I've been having problems and getting the 1221 code for TPS,changed out 3 of them, the last time it happened I noticed fluid under the TPS when I took it off, drove home 80 miles in REP and when i got home i took off the faulty one off sprayed the last one I had issues with fast dry brake clean and reinstalled,no REP code.
Drove it a couple days with no issues, got on it a little before getting home shut car off for about 15 minutes and when i started it again it went into REP,shut it down took TPS off and sure enough it had fluid in it,again sprayed out with Brake clean reinstalled and no codes, what do you guys think, why and how is the fluid going up through the shaft on the blade? I spray at 4psi and my nozzle is about 8'' form TB.
I have never heard of this problem before. Maybe you should disconnect the alky and run it for a while. At least you can isolate the problem that way. Does the alky have a check valve to prevent seepage while the car sits?
Try a new TB
Try to disconnect and run it (Not too much due to no ALKY)
Let us know the findings, a leak is a worn part and it sounds like the shaft is worn some, really no way to seal it unless you can squeez some silicone in it behind the TPS!
