I have been saving up to build the vette for boost and want something reliable and not have to worry about putting a hole in the piston or bending a rod. Now i know the rods/pistons are the weak spot in the ls1 so I am thinking of doing stock size forged pistons and rods ( I dont want to start bore/decking/machining thats when it gets expensive). Now will these pistons and rods do the job with no machining and keeping or lowering cr:
If this bottom end setup would work together about how much hp would it take? Any other recommendations for weak spots?
Thanks for any help and all suggestions
That will work for no more than you are looking for, but look at the heads and V/springs for the heads. That is if you are trying to get by cheap. But if you can look at getting the parts bal.
Im going one step at a time, but what heads would you recommend. Im not really looking to spend 2k on a set but im not trying to be cheap either(ive learned my lesson ) Maybe some 243 ported a good bit with springs and valves?
