Default Nitrous??? need details please

hey guys i would like to do a nitrous setup for my car. what are some complete kits that are budget friendly probably under $800 but are safe as well. should i go wet or dry? which is easier? would i be able to do it myself or have a shop install. i am pretty mechanically inclined and do all the work to my car myself. but unsure about nitrous. thank you

I have run several wet systems on my other cars and have considered a nitrous kit for the vette. When I do, it will be a ZEX Wet System for sure as it's 3 wire hook up makes it the easiest on the market IMO.

I run a Zex system in my SVT Lightning and the results are safe and reliable. A new tune is required, a Dyno tune is preferred, using a SCT xcal 3 tuner.

i have a 98 A4, stock engine. Zex wet kit, 75 shot, Zex window switch (allows you to program when to activate and deactivate the nitrous), bottle heater ( i have the one that plugs into the cigarette lighter). Car consistently runs 7.2's on the 1/8th mile, best of 7.1 on a really good day. These times are achieved with other mods that include:

- LG long tube street series headers, with highflow cats, x-pipe
- Magnaflow exhaust
- Yank SS 3600
- 3.42 gears
- tranny cooler
- Vortex air intake
- a line lock
- Mickey Thompson drag radial
- NGK cold plug
- dyno tune

Here's an old video of mine, running on an inferior Nitto tires, and poorly prepped 1/4 mile.

hope this helps.

This is a nice kit. And if you want to convert to wet, HSW has a conversion kit available.

You will need to buy a used kit to stay under budget and get the safety stuff as well. Basic plate kits go for about $525 new (as the one being sold by the post above) you should get a purge kit, bottleheater, filter, and window control box also. This is just the basic stuff. You should factor in a tune also.

If you are looking for a budget system that is priced competively and not cheating you on quality get with one of the sponsors on the left for a Brand X system.
