Default Dewitts Radiator/Fan combo issues

I have a 01 C5 6 Speed and ordered a Dewitts radiator except it is the one that is cut 2" lower for FI. I figured I would get the one with both coolers incase I ever made changes down the road. When the radiator was installed I couldnt tighten the plastic piece that goes over the radiator all the way. I could start the bolts and it pulled down on the plastic tabs almost as if the Radiator was too high.

I decided to make more changes to the car. I bought a A&A air bridge and air filter to change to over the radiator style on my procharger. The radiator is in the way and the air bridge will not fit up to it. I cant fit the Dewitts dual fan setup because the air bridge also hits the fan. The radiator I have has the 2 mounting points on the bottom and are around 2" tall. I noticed in the picture of a "manual trans" radiator it seems to be sitting lower. The pictures are taken at different angles so it is hard to tell.

The one I have:

Manual Trans one:

Is there a difference in height on a auto trans vs. manual trans?

Did you measure the height of the stock one compared to yours at the mounting tabs?

With mine I cut about 1/2" off the tabs that mount the dual fans to the radiator (lowing the fine to drop that amount). I also lowered mounts for the radiator cradle for more reclearence. (Removed and rewelded the 2 brackets)

This created the combine drop I needed to clear my custum 4" intake. Down side is the sway bar clearence to the fan is close and the lower coolent line is restaing gainst the front cradle. I ended up taking material of the cradle to get clearence. A lot of work but it works great.

Tomorrow I am going to take measurements and probably cut 1" off the tabs on the bottom of the radiator. Hopefully that will give me the clearance I need.
