I've seen a lot of threads on upgrading the fuel pump and adding a hotwire kit when getting up to certian HP levels. I haven't seen any threads about adding a hotwire kit to the stock fuel pump. What kind of gains can be expected with just adding the hotwire kit?
The hotwire kit is a heavy duty harness that pulls power for the pump directly from the alternator, bypassing the majority of the OEM wiring. Racetronix says you'll see more flow on any pump due to the increased voltage.
"The Racetronix PnP upgrade harness provides alternator-direct power for maximum pump voltage. Racetronix has documented an average 1.0-1.2V increase in pump supply voltage on the 2003+ C5. This equates to a 10-15% increase in pump volume."

It will help on a stock pump as well - I know quite a few that have employed the Hotwire kit on the stocker and it's doing a good job -
at the "VERY" least there is peace of mind that you are not getting "DIRTY" Voltage to the pump, but clean voltage right off the back of the alternator
