just got my A&A kit installed over the weekend. I can only assume the pump is stock. it was previously modified and the owner didn't mention a pump change. i have a kenne bell boost a pump wired in right now. it holds right at 58-60psi of fuel pressure until around 6k, then it drops drastically. while doing some street tuning last night, we saw it drop as low as 38psi. i know the pump more than likely needs to be replaced, but it should still be able to hold more pressure than it is, i'd think. i have confirmed that the BAP is working. it's getting 12-13V at the output side normally, then 17-18V with the hobbs switch activated.
i don't think a 2nd pump is needed quite yet. i'm shooting for 550-600whp, so a 255 might just do the trick. i've always thought the stock pump with a BAP was enough for 600ish at the wheels. i don't think i've even seen 8psi and the pressure drop was insane. any good place to get a walbro 255hp from?
changed the fuel filter and it appears to have helped a ton. it's now holding 58psi all the way to 6,500rpm, then dropping to about 50psi at 7,000rpm. amazing what a filter change can do
