Default Cleaning filter

Whats everyone using to clean the filter on your blower. I have a ECS kit. On my diesel bully dog kit I use a K&N filter clening kit that consists of a spray cleaner and then a spray oil. Can I use this or a better sugestion is always appreciated.

I spray my K&N filters with the cleaner and let sit for 10 minutes. Then I submerge the filter in a bucket of warm water and dish soap.Dawn works best. I then lift the filter up and down a couple of times and let it sit in the bucket for an hour or two. Finally rince in a bucket of clean water.Let drip dry in the sun for a couple of hours and reoil. It's amazing how dirty the first bucket gets.

I just spray it with cleaner, let it sit 10 mins and rinse with hose from inside out. Done and clean in 15 minutes. Letting it sit in cleaner/dish soap for an hour+ will degrade the filter media after a few times doing that K&N says. Rinsing with hose per instructions has it completely clean in 5 mins anyway.

Do it how ever you want.I did it your way and then soaked it with a LITTLE dish washing soap and the water was dirty.I always run my finger in the inlet pipe checking for dirt and I don't find any.The oil is what catchs the really small particles so the main idea is not to let it dry out. You'll never get the media air dried properly in 15 minutes. Also K&N says "Allow oil to wick for approximately 20 minutes."I have no idea why someone would need to do this job in 15 minutes.
