Here's my pass where it got a little crazy. No big deal at the beginning. Getting loose at the end of the track is what I didn't like. Need to learn to stay in the groove.

My butt puckered just watching the rear end kick out! Couldnt imagine that happening at 140+mph. Happened to me shifting into second gear a few years ago and I couldnt make another pass bc my butt ate my seat lol
Bret,
I know you are a great driver and you have been racing a long time, Try a bigger burnout, the sticky tires help on the big end also. You were out of the groove, but, more burnout!
Stay safe buddy, hate to see that thing in the wall!
Hey Bret.
I've hit the wall twice in 40 years of racing. It's no fun and real expensive.First time it was a sh*t track and I was too stupid to lift.Second time the motor blew and got oil on the tires.I always lift now.You can always make another run. I don't know what tires you are running.I never run high pressure in my front tires.I've never seen anyone pickup anything by pumping up front skinnies.Try them at 32 - 35#s.I don't like running the rears below 15#s hot with a small tire. You can get away with it on a 16 x 33 but 10 - 12" tires will get loose around 12#s.If you have a local chassis shop ask them who sets up there front ends and tell the guy you drag the car.Once you get the car to hook and your sway bar is off you might try putting it back on the same day at the track.
Good luck and be safe.

Bret,
You're supposed to drive through the waterbox and then stop and do a burnout Bro.
Don't stop in the middle of the waterbox and try a burnout - you just wet down the undercarriage and it drips onto the track.
Light-em up. From what I saw there was no burnout.
You pulled up to the tree and you lined up out of the groove from the start.
Then you drove the whole length of the track out of the groove.
You scared the crap out me just watching you spinning in the waterbox.
Then I had two aneurysms when you lined up out of the groove at the tree.
I said to myself, with the power in this car I can't watch what's going to happen...
Just do a good burnout and line up in the groove - you'll be in the 9's easy.
Don't mean to bust your chops but with your power, whoa!

I'll know better when I hit the track next time. I was the first one on that day and didn't follow anybody into the groove. Lesson learned.

I am sure you have heard all the advice and probably knew it all ready. From the vid looks like you did line up just to the outside of the groove but then drifted completely out of it. A lot of factors to consider and frankly I like to drive around the water box and back into it with just the rears. This can happen if you do everything right so just be careful.
I didn't get to see that run, I must have been replacing my belt at the time which snapped on me on the third run after I tightened it to get rid of my belt slip. I need to follow all of the same advice. Once I got my belt slip fixed my MPH went up from ~126 to 131 but my ET was 11.70 with like a 2.2 60'. My R888's felt like run flats. I need to learn how to do a burnout and remember to stay in the groove. Plus I had trouble hitting 3rd. Thought it was due to my clutch pedal stop but after removing it my shifting is still hard. Maybe my floater plate is dragging against one of the disks because it's strapped. Anyway, no excuses, I suck and need to learn how to drive my chit.
Still a good day of racing and It was great to finally meet Bret and Jeremy. If 08SLVRZ51 was there then I would have met all my DFW idols.
Fun time at the track. Brett, your car ran hard man! With a few more passes under your belt 9's are a cakewalk. Once again thanks for logging my car out there to see where she was at.
It was awesome to see so many street cars on drag radials out there trying to hook it up.
What did the car run on that pass if you don't mind answering? I have a recording of a couple of your passes at the Quality Motorsports private rental three years ago at Ennis. This run was at Dallas Raceway right?

Good times for sure.

It was great to finally meet you Bill. Your car sounded great running down the track. Maybe we should have swapped rears for a few passes for you. I wish I knew you were swapping belts in the pits. I would have come to help. I brought a bunch of tools with me. My dad's a TV repair man.
We should talk about my track tune sometime.

Yep. Dallas Raceway. 10.33 (I think) at 141.7 and 6.8 at 113.8 in the 1/8th
