Default ECS Cam install issues

Hey guys well first let me say that the car sounds nice, I like the camm small surging with old tune on the works on fixing it.

So while I was trying to work on my drivability tune I can across my knock log and it is outrageous. The car is knocking like 15 counts. I am not sure what to do here. I don't know if it is false knock or what. I wonder if my knock sensor is bad or if they installed something wrong with the cam and push rods.

Should I just disable the knock sensor completely for drivability, I did remove 5 deg from the whole table before i did any tunning.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would not recommend shutting off the knock sensors. First get some race fuel or octane boost and see if it changes it. That way you know if it's false or not, if it goes away it was real, if not then it's most likely false. At that time you might need to desensitise the sensors, but do not shut them off. You can get a bad tank of gas at any time.

Did ECS install it? If so, don't take this wrong but they do a LOT of cam installs, I wouldn't think the install would be the first place I'd look. Like Doug said check gas etc. I put a pretty big cam in my previous corvette (EG mayhem) and it didn't ever report false knock, but there are so many factors.

Can you audibly hear it?

The car needs to be looked at by the tuner, STAT.

My last car had a similar issue. It turned out the fuel injectors where scaled wrong and it was lean in a lot of cells.

The OP IS the tuner, from reading the post, ECS installed the cam, but he is tuning it.

is that correct OP?

We only sold him the cam, I dont think we have ever installed any major componants without tuning it ourselves. The OP is from FL too. (not that we do not have them shipped from there often, but then I'm positive we would be tuning also)

No ECS did not install the cam. It is a ECS cam that was installed by the local shop that works on LS cars. I am the tuner, I just never seen this type of issue before that once a cam installed the knock count goes to 15 or so specially on low load.

Did the installer touch the knock sensors or did the top-end stay in place during the swap?

Did they degree the cam when they installed it? Could be off?

I would also do a good fuel torco test then back off the timing if it's real knock
