Default Nitrous users... window switch or push button?

I have the push button on my 96' Camaro (NX kit) but was told that for the Vette I should have a window switch. I do like using the push button, but I'd like some opinions.. which do you have and why? (thanks)

I always use a window switch for better consistency. If its armed and ready, its always going to spray from x rpm to x rpm, no question. Also, with a 6-speed car, a push button is functionally out of the question.

My car is auto. What RPM's do you typically set the window switch to? (I usually try to launch from 2000 at the track).

I would suggest a window switch as well...

As stated above it will be considerably more consistant.

Do not activate it any lower than 3000 rpm.

No lower than 3000 and I always shut it off a couple hundred rpm below the rev limiter.

Arming switch to make the system live. Window switch to control the rpm (high & low) that the nos will be applied. WOT throttle switch to make it happen

window switch. take the human element out of possibility of puddling the N2O.
spray from 3200 (to be safe) to a few hundred under your rev limiter or where ever your tuner tells you to turn it off.

I haven't really fooled with it yet, but I believe you can set up a trigger by creating a custom EIO Output to control a 0-5 volt device to turn it on or off. I think you'd have to use a relay to turn on/off the solnoid.

I have my nitrous on at 3000 rpm and off at 5000 rpm. I have the 1/8th here in San Diego and it is a quick run. The window switch is a no brainer. Well worth the time and effort.

I have a 2000 modded H/C/I vert. My rev limiter is at 6700. If i set up a window switch from 3000 to 6500 when should i shift? To be safe, if i were to miss a gear, should i shift gears after nitrous shuts off at 6500? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Tx

To answer the OP: Window Switch FTW!!!

amidei - The nitrous deactivation should occur at least 200rpms before the shift is made IMO.

What will happen if i shift gears while nitrous is activated?
Also can i down shift or put it in neutral while nitrous is activated?
Sorry about my lack of Knowledge with nitrous set ups. Trying to learn as much as i can before investing in a kit. Tx

you better be a hell of a shifter or kaboom.
i would get a wot switch as well, so it wont activat until your foot is too the floor.

they make controllers with all the safety into one. but atleast get a window, and wot switch

So, as long as i get a WOT switch with a window switch, Nitrous will deactivate when i let off the gas to shift gears. If i have the window switch set at 3500 to 6200 and shift before 6200 will nitrous still deactivate because i have a WOT switch?
