Did this during my motor rebuild. Its cheap and easy to do. Drill with 37/64 bit and tap with 5/8 tap.

just admit that nothing about you is straight!! hahaha The reason you put it straight is because of air flow restriction... I'll take a picture of mine and show you..

And just put red lockti on it.. its works like a champ

I've read that this works with a small modification to the 5 pin connector (dremmel to remove lip):

You can buy the pig tail form autozone or anywhere else for like $3, cut your 2 wires, and solder it on... that's what i did.

I want to say that I have read that the brass sensor comes off the old Chevy Cyclone trucks. You may try google-ing it and see what you come up with.

you are all a bunch of slackers..but i love you anyways!!!

25036751 AC Delco IAT Sensor
12102620 AC Delco Wire Pigtail

http://www.pe-ltd.com/Downloads/air_temp.pdf

The screw in GM IAT sensor GM#25036751 or most parts stores carry Wells SU127.
The IAT service harness GM#12102620 or Delco #PT307 at your local parts store. You should be able to take that info to any autoparts store and cross reference it to something on the shelf.

For the record, i used the wells and no issues at all.

To add to that:

From further reading, the purple and tan wires are the IAT.

To add to the list of part#'s, here's the ones that I use.

Borg Warner Part number WT382 same as GM 213-190 or 25036751

I choose this sensor because a 3/8 NPT bung can be welded in and this sensor screwed in.

The pigtail is the same as the one for the plastic sensor that uses the grommet, Borg Warner PT778 at Oreilly's or Wells SU107 at AutoZone or TS5100 at NAPA

These parts came from earlier F-bodies like 97, or a 95 ZR1.
