Anyone with prior blower experience over the years?
Someone has said rebuild once a year or 12000 miles were common with the oil tapped units. Not sure how much a rebuild costs.
Asked Ernie from Breathless this question when I saw your post earlier today, he was very circumspect about it. It reeally depends on how much you pound on it. Ernie reccommends changing SC oil every 3000 miles, I read what ATI said (6000).
Look, I like centrifugal superchargers but 100k miles? Please. I would like to hear from ANYONE that has 50k on an un-rebuilt head unit. I would suggest the average time between rebuilds is more like 20k.
These things have some high internal loads to deal with.

That's what I was thinking. ATI didn't want me to send it in every 20k tho. They said, just watch for metal in the oil or oil leaks. Hmm...
That is one bad butt Z06. I hope you did not take my post as an insult in any way.
The internal loads that I refer are due to the step up gearing and the way the blower is operated. You have a LARGE gear driving a SMALL gear. This creates LOTS of load. The compressor is moving large quantities of air and that air has weight. Every change in RPM, both up AND down, creates shearing loads, inertia loads and aero drag loads. If a setup does not have a compressor bypass valve the surge further exasperates the issue. Cruise charge temps are also raised considerably (without bypass) as the blower makes boost (and the heat related to such) against a closed throttle plate. The intake after the throttle sees vacuum but not between the compressor outlet and throttle. Have seen some interesting tests. Turbo compressors (and attached turbines) do not experience such harse changes. Roots and Lysolm compressors are moving relatively MUCH lower RPM. (bypass is also needed in these units but for a slightly different effect).
The P1SC1 comes with 5 containers of pro-charger oil. Each container is a change. so you get the fist 24500 miles worth of oil changes with the kit. ATI recommends 500 miles on the first change and 6000 every additional change
