Default Kenne Bell LS6 Tuner Kit - Need Info

I am looking into possibly getting a KB for my 02Z. After looking at their website, I see they offer a complete "tuner kit" but cannot find any information about the kit on their website. I’m mainly looking for prices and specifications for comparison right now.

Contact Jeff at Total Performance Engineering, he is who you want to talk to about a Kenne Bell setup.

From personal experience with there blowers though, if you go that route, be sure to have deep pockets... They are alot of fun, but get expensive in a hurry.

If you want simple, tried and true. Buy a A&A kit and call it a day.

What they are trying to say is "What made you choose the KB?"

Good to see another local in the F/I section.

Before this turns into a giant **** storm, wich im sure it will....

Im a centri/turbo guy myself but a friend of mine purchased a KB system about 4 years ago and we are STILL working the kinks out of it. Built engine and all the driveline upgrades to boot and the only holdback is still the blower system. I did alot of posting when this car was going together with alot of photos and alot of information.

NOW, with that said, the results we have attained are still pretty damn good, but it took alot to get there. 700+rwhp on near stock cubes is very attainable, but your going to pay to get there. Dont expect it on the base kit out of the box or on a stock engine.

Now although it doesnt make the huge power with minimal issues as a centri or turbo unit does, I have to this day never driven a more "fun" car on the streets. The instant power and massive tq makes the thing a blast to drive.

Before you buy one of these units do your homework, thats the only thing I can recommend. Decide what you want in your car and what your end goals are.

600rwhp or less, i wouldnt hesistate to go KB for a second
600+ rwhp, i would strongly consider an alternative to a top mount blower if you dont want to go bankrupt or crazy...

Totally think you might want to look into a A&A Centrifugal Kit before you go with the KB -and they are on sale now
http://www.aacorvette.com/superchargers/

The reason that first and formost comes to my mind is about KB's is: Heat Soak

You can get a Tuner Kit from A&A or install it (Best way to go here) is have it Dyno tuned - perhaps even some in your area might be doing a special.

Can you list your goals you have for the Vette?

What you want out of Supercharger?

Thanks,Matt

I haven’t positively decided on a KB yet. I was looking for more information on the kit so I could do some comparison. I most definitely want a positive displacement supercharger. And between the KB, Eaton, and Maggie, the KB is the only one I know of that comes as a complete bolt on kit.

The car is a daily driver, stock 02Z w 75K.

After driving a friend’s 07Z, my 02Z just doesn’t have quite the driving excitement anymore. I would love to have a newer Z, but I can get same experience with F/I and with a lot less cash.

Its tough to beat the prices of either an A&A or ECS kit...plus you don't need a new hood like you do with the KB kit. Do yourself a favor and go with a centri

The Maggie is an Eaton and there are Magnacharger complete bolt-on kits that use the new Eaton TVS1900 or TVS2300. There's many C5s running them without issues. I you really really really want a PD blower I'd go that route. There are LS motors running the TVS2300 punting out 700+ rwhp.

I on the other hand would push you towards the KB if you do indeed want a PD style blower. Ive dealt with both the KB and Maggies, the KB is a nicer piece and also has rotor coatings that support the use of Methanol if you so choose to use it.

Feel free to give us a call if you would like to discuss how we offer the most low end TQ of any centrifugal supercharger kit on the market. You would have the low end TQ your looking for, with the top end expandability, along with a proven supercharger kit that does not require a hood change.

Maggie if you want a real Blower.

Or you can go with a belt driven turbocharger like Procharger, Votec or Paxton.

Really though it all comes down to what you are planning on doing with the car.

Roots and Twin Screw PD blowers are great on the street. Light to Light are hard to beat and they just look cool. But your gonna spend $10K to get there with the hood change, paint, gauges and tuning.

I got mine from Lingenfelter.

The Centris are excellent as well. You can push higher boost for less $ and no hood change required.

I'd stick with A&A or ECS if I was going that route.

Bottom line is they are all FUN

You are definitely getting some good advice here with the exception of anybody steering towards a heat pump for your car.

I believe I'd rather modify a c6 TVS kit to fit a c5 vs doing a KB kit where the blower is a nice piece, but the rest of it is just a piece.

You need to know your end goal. How much power? For 500rwhp I'd stay NA. 550-600rwhp wanting a PD blower I'd do a maggie(c5 kit) or make a TVS fit. 700+ I'd go centri.

Is there a reason no one is making a TVS2300 kit for the C5 ?
