I've head something about not plugging in the wires before or after the computer or something like that, like you need to relay it? What does this mean...the directions in the package suck. And where are all the wires going to hook up. Does the window switch mount inside the car or outside etc. Pleas help.
Re: Installing the window switch today, need help. (Yellow75)
Yellow, you dont happen to have a way to scan those directions and send them to me do you? I am also ready to hook mine up, but I bought a used kit, and I got directions for nothing! I e-mailed TNT, and MSD, and they are supposed to be sending me a set , but they didnt come today, and I was wanting to do this, this weekend. Also looking for directions for the NX bottle heater, maybe we can share info ,and help each other out

Hmmm, well you live in rockford. Your about 45 minutes away from me. If I don't get it installed tonight, would you be interested in doing both installs at the same time? I don't think I dont' have anything planned for tomorrow. Let me know what you think. BTW I don't have a scanner...but if nothing happenes tomorrow and you still need them I could probably goto a friends house and scan them and send em over to you.
Re: Installing the window switch today, need help. (Yellow75)
Yellow75- i just replied to your IM but will repeat it here. The white wire of the MSD will splice into white wire #10 out of the PCM. the PCMs are located behind the front pass wheel well skirt. You will know you are on the right PCM because there is no wire in the #10 pin of the other PCM. Just splice it in parallel. Run the red wire from the MSD to 12vdc switched and run the black wire to ground. The yellow wire from the MSD is the ground that will be provided whenever engine rpms are withing the pill limits you set. since this ground has a 1.5amp tolerance, you will want to have this ground go to one leg of the coil of an automotive relay. run the other leg of the coil to 12v. So, whenever the engine rpms are within the pills you set, the relay solenoid/coil engergizes. what i did was run my nitrous arming circuit through the Normally Open contacts of this relay. Very important...there are 2 looped wires coming out of the MSD window switch; one red, one blue. The instructions say to cut one if 6cyl motor, cut both if 4 cyl or something like that. For the LS1 you need to cut both. this is the only way the window sw will work right. any further questions, let me know. oh yah, i mounted my switch on the inside of the fender within the battery compartment, just forward of the hood latch mechanism. the PCM is right below that behind the front wheel. I have had my switch hooked up like this for over a year. the relay it runs works like a champ. I have had no failures with my nitrous, electrically or otherwise. I use it daily-nearly.
Re: Installing the window switch today, need help. (rwj383)
When they say run it to 12v switched...does it actually have to be on a switch? like will I have to arm the window switch first, then arm the n2o before I use it? Or does switched mean like wire it to something that only turns to 12v when you turn the ignition? Like the yellow(i think) wire by the pass side fuse box.

Thanks
The power wire (12V switched, input) on the MSD Window Switch should be connected to the power signal wire (output line) on the TPS switch. And the power wire (12V switched, input) on the TPS switch should be connected to the nitrous arm switch.
So this is how it works, when you turn on the nitrous arm switch it gives power to the TPS switch. And if the TPS switch reads WOT, it turns around and activates it signal wire to give power to the MSD Windows Switch. And then if MSD Windows Switch dectect the rpm is within its range, it will activate (or deactivate) the next device, whether it is the solenoid or FPSS (Fuel Pressure Safty Switch).
Did that make any sense? Let me know if you still have any question.
