A spun rod bearing will make all kinds of noise and generally not affect oil pressure. A spun main will make all kinds of noise and will usually show a drop in oil pressure.
If your crank is still good, get a 6L iron block and reuse your crank, get a set of eagle or callies rods, weisco pistons, and new bearings and call it a day. The rings on the weiscos are great for FI. Figure around 3-3.5k for what I listed

One day I beat on my C5 came to a stop, and had lifter noise, turn the motor off for a min. started the car up lifter noise gone, never hear it again. How is the oil psi?, Hyd.lifter calasped
The only thing I have ever heard that was close to a knock in the bottom end that was not a bearing, was a cracked flexplate.Obviously that's not the case here. You can cut the filter open or send out a sample of oil to have it analyzed.A magnetic drain plug would also give you some clues.I hate to tell you but I think you are looking at a rebuild and I would count on 3K.If you don't want to screw with it tow it right to a pro LS shop.Hopefully if they pull it apart they can tell you what happened.Just fixing it without finding out what happened gives me nightmares.Even if it is a lifter all that debri has gone through the motor and may cause more problems down the road.Patching it up now will just add to your final cost.
Good luck.
