Default diablo tuner

well i have got almost all the parts i need together for my D1sc install on my 2000 vette and its now time to grab tunign software. I know hpt and EFI live are the ones of choice but i cant find a shop in my area that uses them. The one performance shop that has a good reputation tells me to use diablo? any experience? comments?

Short answer...No

You're going to need a tune from someone that has access to HPtuners or EFIlive. If you can't get to a shop near you, call a dependable shop and ask for a mail order tune. That will get you by until you can get the car to shop for a dyno tune.

If they are using CMR software to tune, and store the information IN the predator,..its just fine,..as long as they are not TUNING it through the predator. I have gotten plenty of healthy setups RUNNING like stock if driven normal(no hard accelerations) even on built motor, boost setups using only the predator but, all cars go directly to the dyno. Again, if they are using CMR software, to interface WITH the predator, then it's cool. Base predator tune alone, no good for boost.

I've got 5 custom dyno tunes in my predator,..all over 750hp(old setup) saved on mine. It to me, is a great, quick and easy tool that has saved me on many occasions, personally. Mine even was soaked in water, even floating,...and still works for some odd reason. Anyways,..I like the product for it's simplicity and quick use. never know when a code will pop up in the middle of the night somewhere out on the streets...again, saved me several times, and gotten me home with no tow.

They want to use the preditor to tune and store. They are not using any other software outside of the predator. I however have found a tuner with HP on teh way to theri shop but i have to pay per flash to hp 300 bux or something? I dont know how it works. With my last car i bought an apexi power FC D-Jetro and it was all i needed. What is this about paying per flash?

A license is I think $100 bucks....meaning, if you bought HP tuners for your car...... if your buddy wanted to use it as well, he'd have to spend $100 to allow it to be used on another car....the same would be if you wanted to add another person. So, $300 bucks for THAT, or $300 to strap your car down on the rollers and retune? If he's saying 300 to retune, and reflash...then that seems right,... if
