Hi! Im interested in buying a nos kit, wanted to know which is the best kit? wet or dry? Is a nos kit worth the money for that extra power on a stock manuel 99 c5 engine? Whats damage does it do to the engine? Thanks
I know this is a semi-controversial viewpoint, but I think that nitrous oxide is the best, least-destructive power adder for a street-driven car, when used as intended.
The reason I say that is because it's the only power adder that puts no additional load on your engine or powertrain when it's not actively in use. Bottle off, and the car is the same as it was stock.
Of course, nitrous has a bad reputation because it is VERY easy to get greedy and swap in bigger jets - it takes effectively zero time and effort to go from a totally safe 100-shot (for instance) to a motor-killing, fuel-pump-can't-keep-up 350 shot, which is something that's hard to do with a supercharger or turbo that are appropriately sized for the engine.
Nitro Dave's and Harris Speed Works have what you need. Nitro Dave's would be my first choice, they actually provide better customer service when needing to talk to someone live (telephone conversation) where it really counts.
