Default Supercharger experiences

Hey, Can more people post their experiences before and after boost to help those of us that are still dreaming about getting a S/C. One person wrote this about the A&A Kit:

One person said "at 2300rpm he could begin feeling the power, at 3000rpm his head was pinned and at 4000rpm his rider was screaming". Sounds what I want for my C5 (2004) and me".

I can't live without boost. It's like a drug. Honestly, I was in boost every single day, even going to and from work and home, I found places where I could lay it on. The problem is, like a real drug, once you get a taste, you end up wanting more. Now even 500rwhp feels oh hum to me.

If you can keep it in the 500 - 600 range - then it will be a WHOLE LOT LESS expensive -

Otherwise you are looking at new fuel systems / injectors / tune etc. rear end axles / transmission / etc etc. tires / wheels / and so forth -

but that is part of the fun as well - long as you can afford it!

Yeah, but it doesn't really start to get fun until you pass 650.

He's not kidding you.....

You can have a whole lot of fun under 600hp with 3.90 gears or even 3.43 Seen Mdaniel post and there is a difference between the heavy hitters and what most of us call street cars. All depends what your willing to spend.... Set your goal and be happy with what you have once you get there. ..

My recommendation, never ride in a very high rwhp car. Build a big cubed N/A motor and have fun with 550rwhp/500rwtq. Now that I own a 800rwhp (on low boost), everything is slow....and I mean everything. Do this and your wallet will thank you . On another note, I LOVE having an 800rwhp car...I just can't seem to get rid of this thing bc everything I want other that this car is between $45-70k.

Better driveability and fuel economy by getting this power with a supercharger.

so true, you can try (you still wont) and get the power out of big cam and more cubes just to end up puking on the fumes, not passing emissions and getting single digit MPG's (been there done that).

Ive done the cam thing, nitrous, and forced induction (procharger).

Forced induction is where its at. Its always there (unlike nitrous), doesnt lose performance when the bottle is half full (unlike nitrous), dont need to heat the bottle to 'go' (unlike nitrous), etc.

People don't believe me when I tell them 611HP, until we go for a normal ride and everything is fine, and they say, you don't have that much. Then the pedal hits the carpet and then the *** end goes sideways at 45-50mph and they scream all the way to 6500rpms.

They get out of the car and tell me I'm crazy!

I tell them 600 is not crazy, wait till a new bottom end goes in, 800+ is starting to get crazy!

I was at 363HP before boost, now at 611HP

There is a well-known saying out there.

If whatever (engine) your building isnt blown, it essentially sucks.

I have done it all from completely stock to simple bolt-ons to a 125 shot on the stock motor to a 408ci Head and Cam setup and now I'm running a D-1SC Procharger from A&A and I can say with 100% certainty that the FI setup is my favorite. My head and cam setup sucked in slow moving traffic and the gas mileage was terrible. My ZEX nitrous system just irratated me cuz I would go out for a night of "sprited driving and by the end of the night my bottle would be completely gone. Like DizWiz said a FI setup is always there and with my ECS Cam installed it drives completely like stock until I put my foot down and get sideways at 70 with over 800hp not to mention when Im not hard on the car the gas mileage is actually somewhat decent. You have TONS of awesome resources on here with A&A and ECS being two of the many who make a great kit. Only suggestion is TRY to make a goal for yourself now so you dont go way overboard lol gooooood luck with that. Come to the darkside and you will never want to go back.
