Vortech has always been better than ATI in the past, fit and finish were big issues with past ATI products,I noticed someone posting earlier about fitment problems with the ATI,sometimes things never change.
This was exactly the case with hte ATI I bought for my Z28. The guy that installed it had to fabricate a few parts to make it fit right.
 just lookin around for a supercharger...the decision is for supercharger over turbocharger but I am lookin specifically for the Eaton Supercharger kit for C5.
I understand it includes a replacement painted hood and Supercharger but I cant find it anywhere...
...dont want to hitchhike the thread but would love some directions...
Thanks :seeya
I believe Jim Hall (Halltech) is also making a turbo kit for the Z06, but you guys voting turbos maybe should read the post a little closer.
ATI!!!! My install on my Z28 was very straight forward- modified nothing to make it fit. I researched s/c's for a year and a half before I went with the procharger. They have come the furthest and really know their stuff when it comes to intercooled advantages! You can't go wrong with an intercooled ATI. I know from countless hours of research. One other thing ATI has over Vortech is the air-air intercoolers. Check ATI out on their website, and have them send you some info. Can't hurt to see what all they have to offer. Good luck whichever route you end up choosing :)
I'd have to vote for the PTC setup. I've had mine on the car for a little over a year and have had NO major problems, there were a few little issues to work out, but that's to be expected when doing a major mod. I bought my kit used from Nate at Xtreme, it came off of his car and was originally an SVI. Geoff bought the rights to SVI and has steadily been improving the kit.
I would recommend PTC to anybody looking for a supercharger.

Arnie, is the PTC Water cooled? I see the intercooler on the passenger side of the engine. Is it cooled by water, or air? I understand ATI has 2 Air Intercoolers up front. I would assume a radiator or water cooled would be better? What is the cost betweeen a ATI and PTC system?
Thanks
Just for your own information, Carroll isn't the brand of a supercharger, but the owner of the company that installs supercharging systems. As far as I know, they install Vortech and Paxton.
I purchased the stage 3 Carroll system, and added the mods listed, I have had a few minor belt problems but for the most part have been very happy. We still have some more tweaking to do but that
Biggest deciding factor in my selection was the clean look of the install of the Carroll system. I also got tired of waiting for the ATI system which would have made my decision even harder.
I drove joecoooool's LPE supercharged Z06 at the cruise-in. The power was instant. You could feel the torque at any rpms.
I'm trying to figure out how to buy one now.
I can't wait to see Phil's setup in a couple weeks at the World Golf Village show. I'd love one of these but don't think it will fit under my new hood. May have to go with an ATI. Time will tell...
My concern is how long they last before they have to be replaced. I heard the ATI is only good for 30,000 miles. If true, thats far too short for me. I put on 13k miles a year and I want more then two years out of it.

Sorry for the late reply, haven't checked this thread in a while. The aftercooler uses a antifreeze/water mix. There is a reservoir, small cooler and pump in the nose the circulates and cools the coolant. PTC prices start at $11.5K for the base kit, including install and tuning. I've had mine for almost a year and a half with no major problems.
I'm cosidering an S/C package since ATI came out with the kit. Now that Magnuson has come up with one, things are heating up as which will be the choice among C5 owners. I decided to sit back and look at the long-term issues such as durability, drivability, etc. I had seen people upset at ATI even at the beginning stages of the install, this made me think to stay away from it. I know I will have one, and for not it is the Magnuson. Im waiting on Joecool's longterm report on it as the months pass.
Speaking of longterm, I would like to hear how Eikeland (Richard) is doing with his ATI. It's been awhile since I read his post, whatever happened to him?

Re: Poll: Favorite Supercharger? (c5chris)
XTREME and some other vendors here are taking orders for the Magnuson. I am told it is the exact S/C LPE uses. The programming is the same too, and it did get some development input from LPE.
You might want to check out Performance Technical Center in Elk Grove Village, IL.
PTC is way out of line with his prices,11.5K for a (430 rwhp) Vortech system installed is ridiculous compared with todays supercharger prices, you can pick up a ATI or a Magnuson for around 5K,even Vortech's new C5 kit is only 6K.
