Crankcase evacuation system

Anyone use 1 of these?

They say it give you 20 hp and prevent seal and gasket leaks.

I used that exact kit in my '71 SS Chevelle. All I can say is that it worked like it was supposed to. My car wasn't a drag car.

were your tail pipes black with soot?

Not that I recall. All though it wasn't a drag car it was somewhat built. 454, heads, cam, strip dominator intake, big carb, big stall, 4:10 rear. It was really just a weekend cruiser, I put the evacuation system on for looks plus I didn't want to waste vacuum sucking out crankcase gases. Worked great.

When I spoke to the manufacturer of a system like this, they didn't recommend it for use with a full exhaust or with mufflers. They said that without open headers, it wouldn't generate low enough pressure to evacuate the crankcase.
