And all this talk about a iron block is heavy is code for "i don't make enough for it to matter". When you start making big power, you will only go to a iron block, plain and simple.

You also get into the fact that if your motor gets hurt, you can fix an iron block much more easily. If you completely toast the motor and throw a rod through the side of the block, you're still not out much (relatively speaking). You do that same damage to an ERL block and your chances of having tears go up exponentially.

Tuff call on this one. Forged may be unnecessary for my levels, but piece of mind could be worth the extra dollars. YSi has tons of potential..

This is an excellent point. Missing a shift and ripping thru a 5K block would ruin anyone's day

I think I am down to:
1. Iron/Forged rotating
2. Current motor rebuilt with forged rods, pistons [, crank]

Keep em coming...

Damn, nice hp coming from Tx...
Been to Dallas twice and Austin for a few months on business...
Lots of good times!

The stock crank is good for you. Spend the money on heads. They will give you more power at lower boost levels. Your engine will live longer. Heat kills.

Save the cash use your stock block get a quality 4" crank and real good rods and pistons... 383FTW.... Most times I dont see blocks fail.. I usually see rods fail and go through the side of the block somewhere. Or you can sell me your stock LS6 block cheap providing its in real good shape...
