Usually the hot side refers to the pipes that have exhaust going through them. Cold side would be the charge pipes from the compressor to engine.

You should be fine with 2.5" if you don't plan on going bigger later. I've heard some say they prefer the smaller pipe because it takes less time to pressurize. This would make more of a difference depending on the setup supercharger vs. turbo (and rear mount vs front mount).

Turbo is the way to go it is not parasitic, you have more flexibility as far as how the boost comes in and when and my favorite part is you won't hear it when you take it easy. So no one will know what you have going on under the hood.

the bigger the piping, the less boost you will makes while at the same power level.

Of the 3 power adders that make thew power to want, turbo is by far the most problematic to do.. anybody who tells you otherwise is fooling themselves. Sure there are people who don't have problems... but they either didn't do any work themselves or need to buy a lottery ticket..maybe 2!!! I know a few people who have all 3 setups and they hate the way their turbo setups are so fickle.

is that because it takes longer to pressurize because of the bigger piping?

no its because boost is a measure of restriction...its not meteorology.. there is always pressure in your intake... Now don't think you can go 5 inch and make 2 psi and 1200hp either... there is a limit..just not 2.5 inch

3 inch is what to run.. no bigger because of space..no smaller because its just a waste of money..because it cost right at the same thing
