Wondering if anyone has done a relocate of the intercooler to the rear of the vehicle with a fan setup? Would it work?

Out of all seriousness -Last time I checked Maggies don't use Intercoolers - please someone correct me here if I'm wrong

Trust me the MP112's have an intercooler....you could get them as an intercooled or non-intercooled version

This shows a C6 but basically this is what I have in my C5 MP112

i think it maybe like the KB and have a water cooler, all the extra plumbing to run a small rad. to the rear may not be worth it.

it would be alot of extra weight.

I don't think it would be a lot of added weight. There may be reasons not to rear mount the IC but weight of 2 lengths of 8' half-inch hosing isn't it.

I got an idea... Do it and report back any changes in IAT and water temps.

yeah I am not worried about weight. Right now the IC is mounted before my Dewitts and it makes it difficult to keep it cool during the hot days with the AC running. My concern is running the hoses that far and how much more coolant it would require and if it would cause an issue. I could add some fans to help when the car isn't moving.

The problem is that it will only get so cool and the engine will heat up the water in the heat exchanger more than the blower does when doing normal driving. I would be surprised to see the actual temps going into the combustion chamber below 125 or so. I've seen a few 75hp shots that cooled the blower down nicely. The will do something in the neighborhood of 600/600 with it too.

i've seen where somebody on here (can't remember who, but his car is blue i think) made some upgrades to his TVS system that relocated his battery to the trunk in favor of a reservoir that took up that entire space as well as adding a small fan to the A/A IC itself
