Default APS System Smoking - scavenge issues

Have an APS C5 system installed on my C6. LG upgraded turbos, standard APS scavenge pump. Smokes at idle at times - especially when the oil gets hot. I run 20 W 50 oil in this thing. Sometimes it's not bad, other times I'm embarrassed.....makes 1000 hp and the freakin thing looks like its about to blow up.

Ive heard of people using the Exo pump. Does anybody have any suggestions? Louis says do not run restrictors, and I dont wanna starve the turbos anyway.....

Suggestions??????????

TurboWerx exapump and good SS braided lines for draining and smoking will be gone.

What banjo style fittings did you use on the turbos with the SS lines?

Thanks for the reply

The local hydraulic shop I get all my hoses from silver soldered -10 male fittings on the APS curved banjo fittings and it works great.

OK. Are the -10's bigger than the ones APS supplies? Thanks again for the help. Did your car smoke intermittantly too at stop lights and stuff?

I forget how big the APS hoses were but mine were oil soaked and swollen a little. -10 is a good size to run, just don't run anything smaller.
Yeah, my car smoked terribly and this cured it.

This pump cured mine also. I haven't changed any lines yet.

They don't make them anymore nor do they offer support (allegedly). I've never reached out for any APS support because I've never needed it.

Update - I made an aluminum bracket to mount the pump but it hangs down way to low for my liking. The pump is larger than the weldon pump.

I will probably have to mount further forward and up next to my intercoolers. I called turbowerx and they seem to think it will be fine there.

I removed the heat shielding from the pump and placed in right where the APS pump went. My car is really low and it never scrapes.

Because my car is a C6 I was unable to mount it in the standard APS location. Had to move it forward and up between my intercoolers. Unfortunately, the car smokes HORRIBLY with the exa pump in this location. I'm at a loss.

Going back to the weldon and trying restrictors. What size is recommended?

If your smoking with an exo, you need to have your turbos checked out. Also do a leakdown test on the motor.

He is right. The problem is with your scavenge If your car were working fine and this happen just now, I had it in my Gen 3 Dodge viper. Here is a link where to buy a good scavenge that can stop this smoke at Idle:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EXAPUMP-Exa-...item19cb7263b3

I've used this, but it was not good enough for my turbos:

Update: I talked to a few people and found my restriction to be in the banjo fitting itself. By drilling out two holes in the banjo bolt to 17/64 it increased flow back to the pump. I run my aps pump in standard location with no smoke. These are upgraded turbochargers.
