Since I got my A&A kit a month or so ago I didn't have any issues with wheel spin on the street, but I was running my summer tires, Nitto RII's. With the arrival of the rainy season I just changed and put on my winter tires, Michelin PS2's and went for a drive today in dry but cool weather. Wholly shiznit ! No more traction above 3-4000 rpm. PS2's are pretty good tires with a 220 treadwear rating which is the same as the stock Goodyears. Obviously they're not as grippy as the 100 treadwear rating R2's.
Now I understand what people are talking about with wheel spin in second, third, etc.
I guess I'll be taking it very easy while commuting in the rain.
I agree and I run PS2's on my car. I need a tire that is ok in the rain so many of the better traction choices just won't do. When the weather is hot and the road is warm they do a good job putting power down. On the other hand when it gets cold, like now, I might just as well be driving on ice so the car is in winter sleep.
Next time around I may try another tire see if I can do better for my needs.
What you do when you caught up in rain, b/c i went 100 miles to track and on the way back with my 17" nitto NTO5R, caught up in rain and it was hell, heck my car not even equipped with sC just H/C package, may be my 4.10 w/M12 giving me trouble.
BTW soon be SC this winter so iam . Was thinking of Nitto 555 drag radials they have 6/32" with 100A tread in 305/35/18" size what yall think?

dont get caught in rain
id driven them in rain and it is scary, i would just pull over if it was bad
I know i lived there 3 years in arow back in 97-00, too dam hot over there and too dam cold over here, dont like both of em, cali here i come......i wish.
Given enough power, even an R compound tire wont hold up either. I'm only putting down 650 rwhp and took her for a spin yesterday and managed to get wheel spin @ 90 in third (R888 tires), scared the living hell out of me. That said, "regular" street tires are now worthless to me.
I use regular ole hankooks ventus V12s in stock C6 sizes My car put down 600 1st is useless, 2nd is flipping a coin on if it will hook or not and 3rd hooks. Then it gets cool out and it spins 3rd too. But it is what it is and I want to keep my car good all around so I may try out R888s in the future. I have been debating some M/t radials but ehhhh idk
