I have an A&A kit on a 02 z06 with and alky control system that I have questions about. Little run down the car sits outside under covered parking and now thats its getting colder I haven't been driving it as much. Now that it's starting to get cold outside I have noticed that my alky control seems like it doesn't fire as quick as it did when it was hot first question is this normal? I notice the other day when I got in it and warmed it up I took it out on the highway to run it up a little and the alky wasn't spraying at all the light just stayed red and wouldn't switch to green. So I called Julio and he told me to turn the gain up and test it and it should stumble. Did the test and it worked out like he said. So I was told to turn it up and run it hard and then turn it back to where the tuner had it at and I should be fine. That seemed to work fine but it just seems like its taking longer to spray with it on the current setting. So second question would be have any of you guys had this same problem in the colder weather with your alky being sluggish to spray is this a normal thing or do I have a problem starting here?
Yes I found out my system is much more consistant when I run it at 4.5 as opposed to less then 4. I think electronically 5 is the sweet spot for the system.
A little richer won't hurt it a bit. I verified this on the Dyno a few weeks ago. I went from 10.8 afr (no meth) to 10.0 afr (with meth) and it PICKED UP 1 hp... I thought for sure I was gonna lose big power with the meth on and afr THAT rich but no...
