In the midst of a TT build, 5-7# intially with more [10-12] in future after engine upgrades. Is there any downside in driveability in going with a well executed SD tune? Added 2 BAR sensor while manifold off. Anyone done this have regrets?
Previous turbo experiance was with with carbs. Im familiar with both MAF & SD systems theoreticly, but new to EFI tuning. [yes, I'm having it professionally done]

motor will act a little diff in colder weather with the HP TUNE on the car from using the MAF, But with the ending up with that much RWHP AND TQ go with the SD tune, If you get someone that is really good and know what he is doing you will be fine. You have a few good shops in fla that know what they are doing... Robert
I asked this question a year or so ago although for a SC not turbo. You're gonna get alot of different opinion but from what I learned a proper SD tune is going to return excellent results. Also, seemed that on turbo setups a min two bar is preferable although many are running maf tunes with mild/moderate turbo setups. For my application I stuck with maf but I'm not pushing it nor am I running a turbo.
If you can get a proper SD tune from the information I gathered there is no reason not to do it. SD tunes take considerable time to do right, not that maf doesn't, and seem to cost more because the time involved.

Good luck,

I ran a SD tune on my car and driveability was fantastic, but it did take time to dial it in for part-throttle work.
A lot of logging and refining, but I think it was worth it.
I'd do it again without hesitation, especially with a big power car.
If you can find a good tuner comfortable with SD go for it. I've been running on for years with zero regret. As you turn up the boost SD makes more sense.
I run my TT car with a SD tune and my boost ranges from 8-18 and I have never once regretted it. It drives far better than my MAF tune ever did. It has a lot to do with who does the tuning, though.
