been looking at sts system...wondering what the interior noise level is with the system...any drone? normal cruising is the sound level low enough to hear the tunes?

It's loud. It sounds better than tunes. However, since I have an FRC I put in a divider to cut back on drone/sound. Still loud but I like it.

I had LTs and borla stingers. Now just installed the STS kit and I feel that the drone in 6th on the hwy is less. The sound is about the same or a little louder.

There is drone and the kit is loud. Also depends on if your running stock manifolds or long tubes, cats or catted, plenty of drone especially on the highway. The whistling sound is cool though.

Maybe you make something custom and add small resonators after the turbos to cut down the noise.

With the cats, its not bad. Call ECS,609-752-0321. I think they are in the middle of removing a fairly new system with a bunch of upgrades, to do a completely new build for a customer. You can save a few bucks...

Very reliable, it's a perfect street/strip kit excellent for a daily driver.
Sound isn't that bad if your running with the stock manifolds and cats.

You should really try to hear one before jumping in. I was almost ready to pull the trigger and then went to hear one. The one I heard had headers, and was very loud. Much louder than my headers, no cats, and Borla stingers. I felt it was too loud for daily driving so I opted for a supercharger.

the whistle is very cool though.

noise level is fine with factory manifolds and cats.

if its too loud (since sound is subjective) any decent shop can add some bullet mufflers or resonators in line to quiet it down for you.

Sorry I'm in FL. But I just downloaded a decibel meter for the iPhone. I'll try it out and see what kind of numbers I get. If you're thinking twin turbos on a C6Z I would be more concerned with the smell of tire smoke, not the sound

I realize that many people run there set-up this way, but it is not a good idea to have cats before the turbos. As the cats become old, pieces may corrode and come loose which can take out a turbine.

i realize that and find the risk within my acceptable range...after looking at all the various fi kits .. pro and cons as well as installation ...the sts is in the top running for me...noise level when just cruising is my main concern at this point...

I had the sts, no cats, on my c5 z and its loud. I don't remember allot of drone. Its very very reliable and had great traction. I would do it again.

Ok I'm a little late to the show but I will jump in. Had the STS system and it did build alot of power but there certainly was turbo lag and the system was less than perfect from a tuning standpoint. But I loved the system as it was my first F/I car. I had stock manifolds, no cats and upgraded turbos. It soulded awesome. No real droneto speak of but had an aggresive tone to it.
Since them I have had a Kenne Bell, Procharger and a front mount turbo. They are all a much better system from a power and tuning standpoint. Kenne Bell is the most fun for street use. Procharger also is great although do not have the off idle power of a KB setup. I now have an 70MM front mount system and think its the best overall system. All the power (almost) from just above idle as the Kenne Bell. None of the turbo lag of the STS system. And no belts to break or replace as with the KB and Procharger.
If a custom front mount turbo system is not in the budget go Maggie or KB for street use. Prochargers are nice for drag strip use.
More than what you were asking for but trying to share experience as I have had then all.
