I will be getting the F1 TNT nitrous kit in tommorrow along with a TPS switch, bottle warmer, purge kit, and MSD window switch. Now I do almost all the performance work on my car entirely so I get the ins and outs of how to do almost everything except NOS. I have never attempted a NOS setup. I understand how to hoook up all the plumbing etc. etc. But how should I go about hooking up the TPS switch, MSD window switch and possibly the purge kit. If someone has some step by step tutorial to help me out that would be great. I know I have to splice into the wiring harness etc. but which ones? How do I know? I have searched the forum but I would like more in depth info in lamens terms. Someone please help since I want to install this kit this friday. Some extra information is that I live in the NW burbs of chicago and it's a 2001 Z06. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. :flag
The directions cover most of it. The one thing I couldn't find in them is that the wire on the throttle body you need to splice into is dark blue. I haven't installed a heater or window switch yet so can't help you there but the wiring part isn't that hard just run a wire from point a to point b just like the instructions tell you
On the passanger side of the throttle body there is a wiring harness. You will need to splice into one of the wires to get the TPS (throttle postioning signal) for your TPS switch. The wire you need to splice into is dark blue. It will tell your TPS switch when your are WOT. The instructions that come with your TPS switch will tell you which wire from the switch goes to the dark blue one on the throttle body. I would tell you but I'm not sure what brand switch you have
Cobra Skinner, I am working on my install with the NX kit with all of the toys you mentioned. I will tell you this is not a quick install. I am working on a clean install with a factory looking wire job and I have about 15 hours in so far. Most of the instructions are good and if you take your time and think about the power flow to each component you will get it. The main problem I have is finding a shop or forum member to help me do an AutoTap on my 2000 to check everything out. I think this is very important as I read other posts. I live close to you in Rockford IL. if you have questions feel free to e-mail me at work mike@soncopools.com
Take your time and ask questions!!!
