Default KB BAP Install Question

Good day everyone. I am in the process of finalizing my SC install but want to make sure I have everything in place. I am still missing a few items but will be ordering those from A&A real soon.

My question is with the KB BAP. I bought the kit used and the KB setup seems to be already pre-wired to install but want to make sure that what I have is all I will need to install. Pictures below.

With the KB BAP, do yourself a favor and get the Racetronix Fuel Pump Wiring Harness. This allows the BAP to be plug and play and you do not have to cut/splice your stock harness. Plus, the BAP will receive full power from the alternator and you route the harness with the hobbs switch wire from the BAP. These route down the frame rail. I install the harnesses with every A&A Kit I install and a much cleaner and secure install.

If you have a 1997-Early 03 Corvette, the fuel pump get replaced since it is easily accessible. In this case, you would not use the BAP. The BAP is used in the later model years since the fuel pump is on top of the fuel tank.

I just installed yesterday, and did exactly what brian posted here. KB with racetronix harness, for sure its a plug and plug, glad my tuner (arun at CCP) gave me racetronix harness for free (dude you too good). Cut the 2 wires (hosed in a single plastic) goes to potentiometer, and discard potentiometer (solder and heat shrinked these 2 wires red and black coming out of KB bap ).

It gets full voltage when hobb switch closed at 3-4 psi boost (you can verify this with voltage meter and also pump will make slightly more noise when key is turned ON.

Check this website for reference.

http://www.cajundude.com/bap.htm.

also check AAcorvette.com for instructions without racetronix harness.

Get Wire looms, a good quality wire stripper and cutter with nice sharp crimp, heat shrinks, electrical tape, a side cutter, small torch or use lighter....thats about it.

I use 6' long 5/16" rod and taped with electrical tape alternator wire and hobb switch wires insert thru rocker panel, comes out of drivers side front small wheel panel (turn wheel and remove only 3, 7mm screws and pulled from top beside brake booster area.

So, are you guys saying that on my 98 I can't just use the BAP and stock pump and will need a new pump? A&A had told me otherwise if I recall correctly.

You should be able to, depends on power level. I am going to do the BAP and the Racetronix harness and FP to be safe, as I figure I will be around 600RWHP + and just want to do it once.

I am looking at about 550rwhp. Should I just pickup a harness to use with my BAP?

The BAP is not the proper or longest lasting option to increase fueling. If you can replace the pump, then go that route. Replacing the pump is easy on a 98 and the Lingenfelter Pump works just fine.
