Is anyone running a Procharger without headers? I am thinking about Procharger, Corsa Indy, and Kirban shifter with no other mods (except maybe some drag radials!). I just want the car to feel pretty stock. My wife is really enjoying the new Vette (new to us) and I don't want to effect normal driveability. I have had too many header problems in the past with other cars. Would it be crazy to add a supercharger and NOT do headers?
I am doing an ATI SC without headers right now. They are not a *must have*, but if you get them, along with hi-flo cats and an x-pipe, you could get another 25 RWHP pretty easily. I want to get a set of FLP's or LG long tubes sometime in the near future, but at $1,300 to $2,200, it might be a while. I think I will invest in some traction first! Good luck.
Speed Demon is working on it right now. Chris said that he thought he would be finished with it on Tuesday. If the tuning goes off without a hitch and the machine shop finds the jig they need to broach my dampener, then I think Tuesday is realistic. Chris is also installing boost, fuel pressure, AF gauges, 160 degree thermostat and NGK TR6 plugs. Also, one of my intercoolers was damaged in shipping (one side was dented in and the cooling fins were crushed, but not sure if the core was cracked) when we took it out of the bubble wrap so we are going to get ATi to FedEx a new one. If the SuperChips tuning is whacked, then I will look into wide-band O2 dyno tuning with a beta version of LS-1 Edit (since I haved a 2001). I'll post in the FI and Southwest sections when everything is installed and running correctly.
After installing a ATI on my 01 Z06 & driveing it for a while I didnt think that installing headers would make a noticeable difference but I,m glad I did. It indeed felt stronger overall & more of a torquer part throttle response. Fuel mileage seems better also. When I can keep my foot out of it! After doing some research on this forum I chose TPIS & didnt regret it. :seeya
