Default retune

Just a question, if my current set up consists of Novi 2000, meth, headers etc and I make 581rwhp now, and I went ahead and just install a blower cam with the presant tune what results would I achieve, or how would the existing tune work with the cam install? Would I gain some, or could I actually cause damage?

No not trying to skimp just that if I throw in a cam lets say tomorrow by the time I get it to Jersey for a tune just was wondering if damage could occur. Would damage occur driving normal or only if I lay into it?

You should be able to drive it no problem assuming it idles, etc. DO NOT floor it.

Wow I never would of thought there wasn't enough tune in the tune for a cam to run decent? I new it wouldn't be great just thought it wouldn't be optamized.

Depends on what your current set up is and how big your cam is. Most cams require much LESS fuel at idle, more RPM, more timing, sometimes airflow tricks, etc. etc.

Im betting it will run just fine, wot or not... Blower cams are usually not as big s NA ones.. If you have a wideband, just what it.. Remember, the tune on the car not does not sound like the OP did hit himself, so it was a "tuner" that did it, so im sure it was done on the super safe side anyways.

You would be able to drive to a shop to be tuned, but stay OUT of boost. You may have some bobbling idle going on etc, but you can get it to your destination.
You have a stock bottom end and your making a lot of power, there is no room for error.

Doug knows what he is talking about here. So for sure stay out of boost. Plus if the car is a stick car you will be better off keeping the car going over a auto at idle..
