2 bar MAP (((WRONG PN#)) ????
i have seen on many threads and post that the partnumber for a ss cobalt 2 bar map sensor is GM 12615136 . So that's the one i bought and installed on my car. Now my car will barley stay idled up and when i give it gas it cuts off.
REMEMBER this is a new build and today was the first time its been cranked ever.
The tuner said that i might have gotten the wrong map sensor. Can anybody CONFIRM ( from your own experience) that i have the right one.
I have done some research and found that GM 12615136 replaced GM PN 12580698.

1 bar has 1 line of numbers
2 bar has 2 lines of numbers
3 bar has 3 lines of numbers
etc, etc

Absolutely yes 12615136 is 2 bar. I had that and ran it last year, maxed out at 207kpa. Here it is next to the stock 1 bar and also a 3.3bar I tried but ended up not using. (It's for sale) Now I use the old style 3bar.

If your tuner doesn't change the calibration for the sensor, then it's going to run like crap. For C5s, you need a custom OS to use a 2 bar sensor.

(1)Did you just plug it in?
(2) Did you have the tune modified for the 2 BAR SD MAP sensor and now it still wont run?
It's not like it is plug-n-play for going from 1 BAR to 2 BAR or 3 BAR - must be tuned in the PCM by a tuner.
Thanks,Matt

Ya Matt, I plugged the 2bar map in and removed my PCM and took it to my tuner. Then he said he tuned it to a 2bar sd tune.
I noticed last night that I had some codes so I deleted them all out. I will try to crank I again tonight and see what codes reappear. That might give me some insight of what's not right. I'm also going to go though and double check all my vacuums for leaks.

Thanks man i really appriciate it . My tuner is going to to come over and hook up a scanner to it and see what's up with it. Let me ask you this tho. Is it possible that my vortech mondo valve is set to tight. ? If it's not set right, it might be pushing air when it's not supposed to which in turn, would mess my idel up .
