Stall advice needed!
Okay gang,
I'm sure sooner or later the stock trans is going to bite it, so I'm going to yank the trans as soon as I get back from Power Tour and have it rebuilt to handle the power from the blower.
Question is, which stall to put in? I was leaning towards the Vig 2800...here's what the car has in it :
3:15 gears
Ported Throttle Body
LS6 Intake
Texas Speed & Performance Long Tubes & Off Road mid pipes
Corsa Indy Pace Car Exhaust
A & A supercharger kit
Car puts down 515 RWHP /455 RWTQ
I'm running a set of MT 17" drag radials ( 275/40/17 )
I've got a 3000 Vig, with a 3.42 gear ratio. It all depends on how street able you want to keep your car. With a 3.15 gear I wouldn't go any higher then 2600 max at 2800 if you like it a little looser. The Vig run taller then the Yank. So a 2800 Vig maybe equivalent to a 3200 Yank.
If I had to do it over I wouldn't go over 2600, but that's my personal taste.

Just for giggles, I called Yank and Vig directly to see what they would recommend for the car.
Vig suggested a 2400 ( which works out to a 2800 ) and Yank suggested a 3200.
I'm still more inclined to go smaller than larger....

I'm running a YANK 3200 with 3.42 gears and couldn't be happier -
I'm not too sure of the Vig 2400, even if it works out to be a 2800 - why not just state it is a 2800?
If you don't want a YANK then do a Vig 2600-2800 which would be like a 3000-3200 in their terms - sheeeeeesh! I hope that is right!
I will recommend the YANK in my behalf, customer service and product is very good! PLUS - a 3200 is a 3200 and a 3000 is a 3000 and a 2800 is a 2800 - you get the picture

Thanks,Matt
Yank might be the way to fly.....I was just concerned that the 3200 would be too much for the car.
I started with a Vig 3200 triple disk, and was happy with it. I could footbrake to about 2K, anymore it would push thru the brakes. It felt mild in my opinion, so a year later I had it adjusted to 3600, and it goes a few hundred RPM higher. It's pretty aggressive now, especially on the street. Note it was a free complimentary adjustment available to all owners. It flashes exactly to the advertised stall, so I dunno what people mean with the funny rating.

It would work well - it's all in the STATER and the size on how well it performs in the so called 'Parking Lot Behavior' - and with the larger stater it behaves real nice -
IF the 3200 scares you at all then do a 2800-3000 - just call Dave at YANK and let him know.

Have a 2600 stall TCS converter with 3.42 gears.
Still feels too loose for me.
Btw, Probably the cheapest way to fast track times is a high stall converter, like a 3800 or higher stall - undrivable for me though.
