Default Traction control working?

So how much tire spin does your traction control allow? My manual 04 allows for a lot of spin and even drifting. Few times now coming off a turn I've ended up spinning out through first and into second, catch traction and then spin again at about 5500 and up to redline. This is with traction control on and not in perf mode. Seemed to me before the SC install the TC jumped in early and often when it picked up spin. I'm not killing the go pedal either just laying into it, modulating and then spinning it out instead of coming off the throttle and ending up in a ditch?

Thanks for reading,

Darion

BTW, no codes to speak if and no light indicators either.

Thanks

My traction control seems to react slower and slower as I have gone up in HP. Mine sounds like it reacts similar to yours except I have an auto.

The traction control does not like the 520 hp at all. I have to make sure it is off when i punch it even on a rolling start . Once or twice after forgetting to turn it off and spinning the 305s it went into reduced power mode and have to shut off and restart , no problem with it off , can spin allday .Supercharging sure is fun especially for the yoyos along side you who have no idea you have 520 hp.

Mine is decent in response no where near as it was when stock - not overly or underly sensitive!

If I remember correctly it can be desensitized with HP Tuners as I know mine is - just can't remember the actual table's name for it

Mine will definitely kick on when I loose traction in the 65-70 MPH range - and I am glad it does at times

Thanks,Matt

Ok so maybe it is an issue of how the tune is setup? I'll have to start looking in to some tune logs to see what I can find. If anybody has more info on this please post up, I have HP Tuner Pro.

Thanks,

Pat

I know my tune has not been adjusted at all for anything to do with traction control, not even sure you can.

So I notice that we have four coupes with TC that does nothing to a little and one Z06 that allows virtually no wheel spin. Any difference in traction control between a coupe and Z06?

All this spinning, you guys are nuts! Mine has 572rwhp and it's a dead hook in anything but 1st gear. My yaw sensor is bad right now, so I havent used my traction control system in months. I don't even need it, since I have no wheel spin.

Sure, it won't work if I need it around a turn...but I don't get crazy enough on the street to need it.

HAHAHAHA - too funny to read the wide range of responses

at 550rwhp (dynojet) - my traction control allowed some spin but mostly kept to a minimum.

at 640rwhp (dynojet) - traction control definately limits the amount of spin, but it will allow car to get a bit sideways, still night and day different from turning off traction control when things just get stupid

I think how fast your wheels loose traction and accelerate have a lot to do with it. If I romp in from a stop I think I can hit second gear before it activates, then again I really don't get more than a foot or 2 forward motion.

What tires are ya runnin to dead hook? I have PS2s, 305/19s and need a tire that can deal with rain, hard rain out of nowhere sometimes. I'm not killing the go pedal, just rolling it on. If TC was working, as it did, should I be spinning with my tire selection at all, should it not catch it?

Thanks for the response,

Pat

Running Nitto 555R-II's. If you want real traction, get some R-Comps. If you have over 500rwhp I don't think any regular street tire is going to grip well. We all make sacrifices, some of us make them for traction. I tested them well yesterday in 2nd and I didnt roll into it, i stood on it and put it to the floor. These tires do fine with rain if you're careful, but they wear out fast and when that happens its best to just avoid any rain at all.
